Meet the team
James Lockyer
Beginning his career at HSBC, James took on core roles in asset finance, corporate credit & recovery and relationship management with the Commercial Bank.
In 2010, he joined HSBC’s Private Bank business, where he developed their regulated mortgage product offering and prepared the company for the 2014 Mortgage Market Review.
James then joined Kleinwort Benson in 2014 and enhanced their regulated mortgage offering from a sales and underwriting perspective. In 2016, after the acquisition by Societe Generale, he constructed their credit advisory service, devising operations across the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.
Latterly, James joined Deutsche Bank in 2018 to develop and launch their first regulated mortgage product offering in the UK.
Chris Burge
With a career in banking spanning over 40 years, Chris brings invaluable knowledge and seasoned experience to the Bevis Marks team.
Chris joined Metro Bank in 2014 where he established the Commercial Private Client offering, building one of the largest and most profitable client books in the company. Before Metro, Chris spent 14 years at HSBC Private Bank, building a diversified portfolio of HNW / Commercial clients.
Chris also spent over 18 years within HSBC Corporate and Commercial teams in London and the Thames Valley area.
Mark Bradley
In 1998, Mark started his banking career with NatWest, working in retail operations and customer services roles. Mark then moved to HSBC Private Bank in 2006 and worked in relationship management within the Global South Asian Diaspora team. Here, he covered the Non-resident Indian Sub-continent and South African markets, focusing on real estate finance and banking for offshore clients.
Joining Metro Private Banking in 2014, Mark was integral in developing the commercial private client desk. Mark’s final role with Metro was as Head of the Sports & Entertainment division, where he managed one of the Private Bank’s largest client portfolios and was responsible for some of their highest-profile clients.
Alex Leggett
Before Bevis Marks, Alex was a private banking Director at Metro Bank and had previous roles at Coutts and Co. and Arbuthnot Latham Private Bank.
With a proven track record in helping HNW individuals achieve their goals, Alex has extensive experience with residential mortgages, buy to let, development finance and Lombard lending.
Alex brings a strong network of professional and banking connections to Bevis Marks, allowing us to achieve the best possible results for our clients and build bespoke lending solutions to a range of individuals, from first-time buyers to those looking to re-mortgage.
